What is the process to consolidate my existing 403(b) into the CTA 403(b)?

Generally speaking, there are five steps in the consolidation process.

There are some nuances depending on the details, but the following is an outline of what to expect as you go through the process:

1. Determine what type of consolidation transaction it is.
2. Verify if there are any surrender fees or penalties if you move your money.
3. Obtain the appropriate paperwork for the type of transaction you are completing:
    - TPA Paperwork (District plan approval for the transaction)
    - CTA Paperwork (where your money is going)
    - Distributing Paperwork (where the money is coming from)
4. Complete all of the paperwork and submit it for review
5. Follow up with your current company to determine the status of your money going to the CTA 403(b)
